NSPCC Encourage Clubs to host ‘Team Huddle’ ahead of Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport Week

This year the NSPCC and Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) are focusing on building safer sporting communities for children.

We’re asking teams and clubs across our basketball community to come together by hosting a Team Huddle. This can take place in the lead up to our focus week in October, whenever suits you most.

Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport is a national, year-round campaign which looks at improving parental involvement in children’s sport. KYCSIS awareness raising week is taking place 7 ‑ 11 October 2024 and we would encourage as many clubs to be involved in this week by sharing information with young players in clubs and through social media.

During this awareness raising week NSPCC share resources to help sports and parents to work together to keep children safe in sport.

The aim for 2024 is to bring our sporting community together. We want to help clubs create an open and inclusive culture, where parents feel able to speak up, ask questions and raise concerns.
