We are thrilled to announce that Jacob Byrne, BNI Youth Forum Member and Belfast Phoenix U18 Captain has been added to the roster for the upcoming Ireland U18 camp.
We are extremely proud to hear about Jacob’s call up to the Irish U18 Boys National Team Camp. Jacob’s hard work and dedication as well as some of his recent performances including his 30 point masterclass in the National Cup Final have earned him a well deserved place in the upcoming Ireland camp.
Andy Gill, Elite Pathways Coordinator
Jacob’s a product of Phoenix Basketball within the BNI set up. He has worked hard on the court developing his skills, physical ability and mental ability.
He was the leader of the Phoenix U18 Boys team that were crowned National Cup Champions just a couple of weeks ago. In the final he recorded a jaw dropping 30 points in a 82-80 victory over the Dublin Lions.
As well as being an example leader on the court, Jacob is the same off the court as he is proud member of the BNI Youth Forum helping add a voice for the next generation in basketball. A truly all round great player and person.
Jacob will join team mate Fiontan Rodgers in the initial 31 man squad that will train towards the upcoming Cardiff tournament before being narrowed down again for the Euros in the summer.
Congratulations Jacob from everyone at BNI.
