Conor Quinn Gets Ireland Called Up For Upcoming FIBA World Cup Pre-Qualifying Campaign


Belfast Star Captain, Conor Quinn, has been selected for the Irish National Team in the upcoming FIBA World Cup Pre-Qualifying campaign against Kosovo and Switzerland.

The team will travel to take on Kosovo this Thursday in their first game. Their opening game will take place in Prishtina, Kosovo, with the game tipping off at 6PM. Then after a quick turn around, the team will host Switzerland this Sunday at the National Basketball Arena in Dublin tipping off at 3PM.

After hearing the news Conor shared his excitement with BNI about receiving his call up and representing Ireland in the upcoming games:

“It is always a privilege to put the Irish jersey on. I am looking forward to getting situated here in Kosovo and having a good week of practice to get ready for the games on Thursday & Sunday. Both games are going to be tough which you would expect at this level. I am looking forward to the challenge. I would like to thank BNI for all the messages and support from everyone!”

Conor’s hard-work has paid off with key performances for his team Belfast Star who sit top of the Basketball Ireland Super League. Conor has played a consistent role in team from a leadership role as well as adding to the points tally.
