Cleveland NI schools project selects U13 All-Star teams!

Cleveland Northern Ireland Project was founded by Shane Donnelly in 2021. The project delivers 8-week basketball coaching programs to Primary & Secondary schools across NI. At the end of each term the schools participate in a Blitz event held at a central venue Lisburn Racquets Club. At our last blitz event in March’24 we had 1300 young people participate over 6 events. The Board of the Cleveland Project wants to provide a pathway for young people to continue basketball outside of school by joining local clubs.

As part of this pathway the Project has started up the Cleveland NI U13 All Star Teams.
Players were invited to trials from schools and clubs across Northern Ireland

These trials were held in May ’24. From the trials 20 boys and 20 girls were selected for the All-Star Team. The teams are travelling south to participate in tournaments and friendly games at the end of May and we will host our first tournament on Saturday 15th June ’24 at the Lisburn Racquets Centre.
