BNI is pleased to announce that registration will open at 4.00pm on Friday 3rd July 2026 for two upcoming coaching qualifications taking place at the Ulster University Sports Centre, Jordanstown.
These courses provide an excellent opportunity for aspiring and developing coaches to gain recognised qualifications, enhance their coaching knowledge, and support the continued growth of basketball across Northern Ireland.
Introduction to Coaching Award
The Introduction to Coaching Award is designed for individuals beginning their coaching journey and provides a foundation in coaching principles and practice
Cost: £45
Venue: Ulster University Sports Centre, Jordanstown
Minimum Age: 16 years at the time of the course
Course Schedule
- Friday 14th August: 6.00pm – 9.00pm
- Saturday 15th August: 9.30am – 12.00pm
- You must be able to attend both sessions.
Level 1 Coaching Award
The Level 1 Coaching Award is aimed at those looking to develop their practical coaching skills.
Entry Requirements
- Candidates must be aged 18 or over at the time of the course.
- The Introduction to Coaching Award must not have been completed within the previous 12 months.
- Completion of written tasks before and after the course.
- Delivery of a 10-minute coaching session as part of the assessment process.

- Saturday 15th August: 12.45pm – 6.00pm
- Sunday 16th August: 10.00am – 6.00pm
