Basketball NI’s Senior Finals Day brought an electrifying conclusion to the 2024/25 season at Lisburn Racquets Club on Sunday 30th March 2025, with thrilling matchups determining the Playoff Champions in both the men’s and women’s competitions. Fans and supporters were treated to high-energy clashes as teams battled for silverware, culminating in a dramatic day of action.
Men’s Playoff Finals
Men’s Division 3 Final: Mourne 40 – 44 UU Tigers 4
UU Tigers 4 edged out Mourne BC in a closely contested battle, securing the Men’s Division 3 Playoff title with a hard-fought 44-40 victory.
Men’s Division 2 Final: Magherafelt Titans 51 – 55 Newry Eagles
Newry Eagles soared to victory over Magherafelt Titans, sealing a narrow 55-51 win and claiming the Division 2 Playoff championship. A great first season in the BNI leagues for new club, Newry Eagles.
Men’s Division 1 Final: North Star Warriors 50 – 90 Belfast Star
Belfast Star dominated the Division 1 final with a commanding performance, defeating North Star Warriors 90-50 to take home the title.
Men’s Premier Final: Phoenix 85 – 86 Belfast Star
In the most dramatic men’s final of the day, Belfast Star edged out Phoenix by a single point, securing the Premier Playoff championship in a thrilling 86-85 showdown.
Women’s Playoff Final
Women’s Premier Final: Belfast Star 61 – 70 Queens
Queens claimed the Women’s Premier Playoff title with a strong 70-61 victory over Belfast Star, capping off a fantastic season with silverware.
