Basketball Northern Ireland (Basketball NI) is proud to announce the commencement of trials for Team NI U17 this weekend at Ulster University, Jordanstown. The trials mark the beginning of an exciting journey for young basketball talents in Northern Ireland, as they vie for a spot to represent their country on the court.
Andy Gill, Performance Performance Coordinator, expressed his enthusiasm for the U17 programme stating, “Team NI is the ignition tool for the development of high performance within Basketball Northern Ireland. It allows us to set our structures within an environment that gives our players the best chance to develop their full potential. We can encompass all the interweaving support that is so vital in the performance arena.”
The trials, taking place this weekend, will feature promising young athletes showcasing their skills and determination to earn a spot on the U17 Girls and U17 Boys teams. The program aims to provide a platform for players to excel and reach new heights in their basketball careers.
Mulholland emphasised the importance of the upcoming summer season, saying,
“Everyone is excited at the prospect of a busy summer ahead for our teams, coaches, and supporting staff of which we hope all participating learn a lot and enjoy the process as we continue to grow the game here with the support of Sport NI.”
