On Friday, 12th September, Basketball Northern Ireland held its Annual General Meeting, followed by a Competitions Forum, at the Crowne Plaza in Belfast.
At the AGM, Kevin Craig was re-elected as Chairperson, Lisa McCaffery was confirmed as incoming Treasurer and Frank Bryan OBE as Head of Governance. We were also delighted to welcome additional new Director to the BNI Board, Catherine Dolliver.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to outgoing board members, Darryl Petticrew (Governance) and Liam Pettigrew (Treasurer), for their outstanding commitment and dedication over the past five years. Their contributions have had a significant and lasting impact on Basketball NI, and we wish them every success in the future.
Following the AGM there was a Competitions Forum held with main discussions based on the upcoming season. The committee made up on Malachy Kearney as Chair (Phoenix BC), Mary Matthews (Queens BC), Eva Mcrory (Tyrone Towers), Noel Doyle (Magherafelt Titans) also welcomed new addition to this years committee, Phil Molloy (Belfast Star).
This forum provided a great opportunity for engagement around rules and amendments, several of which have now been approved.
