The U15 boys broke new ground in February 2024 with a historic double win away to Wales. All 12 players have been retained from that squad and have been joined by 8 players from the original 26 selected at Christmas and 7 new faces from the exposure trial held last Friday 19th April. Belfast Star and Phoenix both contribute 8 players each to the squad followed by Newry with 4, Hazelwood Hawks with 3, 2 from BC Wolves and 1 each from Queens and Towers.

The success of the selected team in February has set a high bar for this new squad. We are working hard to give them opportunities in the summer to continue their progress and I look forward to working with key stakeholders to ensure this happens.

Marc Mulholland, BNI Vice Chair and Head Coach of the team, said;
The recent Team NI screening session was a chance for the coaches to see some of the players that we have been scouting over the past months in club competition, up close and in person. We have learned a lot about our system of play and the types of players that will work well within our system and pathway. With 45 players in contention, it was great to see the players working together and as all coaches stressed on the night, that no matter what the outcome, this is another step forward for them on their basketball journey and that they all presented a great account of themselves during the session. I’d like to thank all of the players and parents for taking the time to attend the session and look forward to seeing those selected at our next session in preparation for the summer.
